E-Las-Tek® 505 Puddle Plaster is a thick, paste-like, black reinforced coating containing fiberglass, asphalt emulsion and a thick, lightweight filler. 505 can be used in scupper areas, around drains and valleys and in low areas expected to trap water. It can be used to divert water from behind chimneys or other roof penetrations. It will not re-emulsify in ponding water. Once cured and top-coated, this emulsion is firm, durable and flexible. 505 Puddle Plaster is not elastomeric.

On roofs, Sealer Emulsion should be coated with Elastek top coatings to protect from sun damage
May be used as saturant for roofing fabric

Uses:

Usually will not discolor white topcoat
May be used over most existing asphalt roofing
May become soft in hot weather unless top coated with a reflective coating
May be used on asphalt built-up, granulated, modified bitumen and metal roofs

Application:

Apply only in good weather when ambient temperatures exceed 50°F and no dew, rain, or frost is expected for 48 hours. Direct sun speeds drying.

Dampen trowel to reduce sticking; smooth surface.
Use E-las-tek® #500 Sealer Emulsion or topcoat to smooth and seal surface when dry.
Apply with trowel or straight-edged tool at rate not to exceed _ inch per coat.
Material is very thick and will require smoothing.
To avoid softening and damage from sun exposure, Puddle Plaster must be covered with two coats of a reflective topcoat.
Before applying reflective topcoat, allow Puddle Plaster to cure a minimum of 7 days, rinse off surface oils with clean water and allow to dry thoroughly. This improves topcoat adhesion and reduces asphalt bleed-through.
